Mark Weinstein Owner

Mark Weinstein, Founder and Owner of Law Offices of Mark Weinstein, PC, has been an active lawyer in private practice since 1996. He has represented the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) as a Special Assistant Attorney General (SAAG) since 2001. He also handles matters on behalf of property owners whose property has been condemned or is under threat of condemnation from counties, local governments, and other condemning authorities. He has closed hundreds of real estate transactions and litigated hundreds of cases. He has also represented local governments, lenders, brokers, agents, and small and large private property owners. He is a former professor of political science and legal studies and an expert in real estate law and eminent domain law. His persistence and focus help his clients achieve outstanding results.

As a law firm owner and mentor, Mark’s approach to practicing law is collaborative. He enjoys and finds value in working with others and likes to teach his associate attorneys by including them in important client calls so they can increase their already sharp legal skills. Being an attorney allows him to draw on many different skillsets he has developed and refined,  while working as a lawyer and in higher education as a professor,  to present information clearly and convincingly to a larger audience, including judges, juries, and most importantly his clients. He personally and routinely  handles acute situations that arise for his clients and strategizes the handling of all cases, including hearings, trials, and appeals.

Clients that have worked with Mark have left him numerous glowing online reviews, including, “Mark and his associates handled our Homeowners Association negotiation with Forsyth County for the Brookwood Road widening project. We received fair reimbursement for the loss of land, trees, and plantings. Mark and his associates were detailed and professional.” Another client raved, “Using Mark’s firm resulted in the exact experience that you would want and expect from a real estate attorney. I hired them for their expertise and I received a very personal level of service that I was pleasantly surprised with.” Another lawyer that worked with Mark said, “I have worked with Mark Weinstein on multiple large-scale Department of Transportation roadway projects. He has always demonstrated a high level of professionalism. He is very attentive to detail and conscientious toward his role and duties on a project. He sets high standards for his own level of service and expects the same from his peers who work with him on projects.”

He earned his Bachelor of General Studies in Philosophy, Politics and Public Affairs, cum laude, from University of Miami in 1983 where he achieved Departmental Honors in Philosophy and was selected for membership in Phi Sigma Alpha, National Political Science Honor Society, and Golden Key National Honor Society. Afterward, he obtained a Master of Arts in Philosophy in 1987 and a Master of Arts in Political Science in 1990 from the University of Arizona. He was a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Political Science. In addition to obtaining these degrees, Mark earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Arizona in 1990 as the recipient of the Rosentiel Law Scholarship. During law school he served as the Student Appointee to Law College Faculty Committee on Interdisciplinary Studies.

Mark’s peers have honored him with an AV Preeminent Rating from industry stalwart Martindale-Hubbell. This distinction is based on peer reviews within the legal community and clients’ reviews. He is also an active member of the Forsyth County Bar Association, State Bar of Georgia, Eminent Domain Section, and American Bar Association.

Outside of work, Mark enjoys international travel, loves to listen to jazz and classical music, and enjoys  walks with his wife Liana, including along the trails in the Chattahoochee National Recreation Area with their two pointers, Benny and Coco.
